Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 23 July 2026
These terms set out what you can expect from CleanSlate and what we ask of you when you use our website and app. Please read them carefully.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the CleanSlate website and app (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What CleanSlate is
CleanSlate provides tools and information that help you understand and get through your debt plan. The Service is free for you — our partners pay us, so you never do.
CleanSlate provides information and support only. We do not provide regulated financial advice, and nothing in the Service should be treated as advice tailored to your personal circumstances. If you need financial advice, please speak to a suitably qualified or authorised adviser.
3. Your account
Some features may require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your login details secure, and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
4. Acceptable use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or other users’ use of it.
- Copy, scrape or reverse-engineer any part of the Service except where the law allows it.
5. Third-party services and offers
The Service may show you deals, products or services provided by third parties. Any agreement you enter into with a third party is between you and them, on their terms. We are not responsible for third-party products or services, though we take care in choosing the partners we work with.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and up to date, but we do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of the Service at any time.
8. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you started using the Service, losses not caused by our breach of these Terms, or business losses. Decisions you make about your finances remain your own responsibility.
9. Ending your use of the Service
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any disputes, unless mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence say otherwise.
12. Contact us
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us using the contact details provided on our website or in the app.
